 WELDING & METAL FABRICATION TECHNOLOGY



Welding/Metal Fabrication Technology program is a very diverse area in which the students are trained on Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Flux Cored Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc welding and Oxy-Acetylene/Cutting, Welding and Brazing processes. Students also study emerging technologies such as glass and plastic welding.  Theory includes the aspects relating to safety in today's welding facilities as well as welding symbol and blueprint usage.




Certifications:

  • OSHA 10HR
  • AWS Recognized Welding Certifications (AWSD1.1 SMAW and FCAW)
  • Forklift Certification

Post-Secondary Education:

There are several programs that can provide you with ways to earn a college degree in less time and for less money.  One way is through SOAR – Students Occupationally and Academically Ready.  These are free college credits earned while at York Tech.  These are called articulated credits and these can save you time and money.  Please click below to see the credits you are eligible to earn through this program.

Uniform:

Students at York Tech are required to wear a uniform.   Please click below for information regarding your technical uniform. Solid Blue or Black Jeans, Khakis or Dickies that cover the top of the boot.
