  EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION


Are you creative, energetic, and enjoy working with children?  Learn how to develop and present lesson plans to young children, spend time working at local elementary schools, at our on-site Early Learning Center, or at other community childcare programs.  Earn hours towards the 480 hours of training required to apply for your Child Development Associate Credential.

Criteria for Admission:
 

  • Child Abuse Clearance
  • FBI Fingerprint
  • Criminal Background Check
  • National Sex Offender Registry Verification Application 
  • Signed Disclosure Statement for Volunteers
  • Letter of Recommendation (non-family member)
  • Letter of Recommendation (non-family member)
  • Physical & TB Test 
 

Expectations of students in the program: 

  • Be a good role model throughout the school
  • Practice safe habits at all times
  • Demonstrate self-discipline
  • Display a positive attitude and give your best effort
  • Be a team player
  • Use appropriate language

Post-Secondary Education:

There are several programs that can provide you with ways to earn a college degree in less time and for less money.  One way is through SOAR – Students Occupationally and Academically Ready.  These are free college credits earned while at York Tech.  These are called articulated credits and these can save you time and money.  Please click below to see the credits you are eligible to earn through this program.
