Electronics & IT Support

Overview

This program prepares students to maintain, support, and upgrade computers and mobile devices. Students learn how the components of a computer interact with the operating system software so they can apply that knowledge when troubleshooting a faulty computer system. Students will perform repairs and upgrades to hardware, software, and other IT-related devices; learn more about electronics and how circuits make IT equipment function; and maintain and troubleshoot computers so they operate effectively and remain virus free.

There are many career opportunities for students graduating from York Tech's Electronics & IT Support program.

What to Expect

Students interested in this program will take courses in Computer Programming & Interactive Media, Electronics & IT Support, and Network Systems & Cyber Security for the first two school years. After sophomore year, students will apply for full-time entrance into one of the three programs, and they will be accepted based on merit and other criteria. Students who are not approved for their first choice will be assigned to one of the other two programs included in the rotation.

Careers

Uniform

Students at York Tech are required to wear a uniform at all times. While in their shop classes, they must wear the uniform designated by the program instructor. At all other times, students may wear their shop uniform OR York Tech apparel, which is sold through the School Store and the Fan Shop. Please review the Student Handbook for a full explanation of the dress code.
