High school students in Grades 9-12 are eligible to attend York Tech, provided they reside in one of the 14 participating school districts. However, full-time admissions are limited to students entering Grades 9-10 (i.e. students currently in Grades 8-9). Full-time and part-time Flex Programs are available to students in Grades 11-12 who have not previously attended York Tech.
Much like a traditional high school, each student takes traditional academic courses. Unlike other public schools, our students also take courses related to one of 25 career programs and work toward receiving industry-recognized certifications. This combination of traditional academics and technical training gives York Tech graduates the flexibility to pursue postsecondary education or enter directly into the workforce or military with a leg up on the competition.
Students do not pay a fee to attend. All tuition costs are covered by the sending school districts. Students must purchase and wear uniforms that comply with industry standards while attending York Tech. Other items may be required in technical areas if they are used on a regular basis.
York Tech prepares students to be college and career ready. About half of York Tech graduates continue their education at four-year colleges, two-year colleges, or technical schools. The other half enters directly into the workforce or the military.
York Tech offers a wide variety of activities and organizations for students, such as a full offering of athletics. Additionally, the following extracurricular opportunities and clubs are available.
