Catered Meal — This week, students in our Culinary Arts program catered a holiday meal for Shadowfax Corporation, a non-profit organization that supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It was our pleasure to continue this annual tradition, and we're so thankful for the card and ornaments gifted to us by Shadowfax's employees! [Photos]

Gift Bags — Students in our Medical Professions program made gift bags, which will be distributed to residents of Pleasant Acres Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. The bags contain personal items, sweet treats, and positive messages to spread holiday cheer throughout the facility. Megan Abel '23 is the activities director at Pleasant Acres, and she worked with Ms. Hawkins, one of our Medical Professions instructors, to initiate this annual tradition. We're very thankful to have alumni, teachers, and students who make giving back to the community a priority! [Photos]

Need to Know

Winter Break — The last day of school before winter break will be Friday, Dec. 20. There will be no school from Dec. 23 through Jan. 1. School will resume on Thursday, Jan. 2. More details are available on the school calendar, located at this link.

Spartan Review Distribution — This will be the last issue of Spartan Review until after the winter break. The next issue will be distributed on or around Saturday, Jan. 4.

Spirit Days! — Students are encouraged to wear holiday colors (red, green, blue, gold, yellow) on Dec. 18, holiday sweaters and socks on Dec. 19, and pajama bottoms and holiday accessories on Dec. 20. Hot chocolate will be served during lunches on Dec. 20. All other dress code requirements will be in effect.

Winter Coat Drive — The Hub is an in-school resource center that contains free clothing and other essentials for York Tech students in need. Donations help to keep The Hub appropriately stocked. Currently, the items most needed are new or gently used winter coats. If you'd like to contribute, please send in coats with a current student or deliver them to one of York Tech's offices during school hours before Dec. 20. Thank you for considering this opportunity to assist our Spartans!

Musical Auditions — Auditions for the spring musical, West Side Story, will be held on Jan. 4. Students who would like to audition must click on the link and complete the form. Comida preparada — Esta semana, los estudiantes de nuestro programa de Artes Culinarias sirvieron una comida navideña para Shadowfax Corporation, una organización sin fines de lucro que apoya a personas con discapacidades intelectuales y del desarrollo. ¡Fue un placer continuar con esta tradición anual y estamos muy agradecidos por la tarjeta y los adornos que nos regalaron los empleados de Shadowfax! Vacaciones de invierno — El último día de clases antes de las vacaciones de invierno será el viernes 20 de diciembre. No habrá clases desde el 23 de diciembre hasta el 1 de enero. Distribución de Spartan Review — Este será el último número de Spartan Review hasta después de las vacaciones de invierno. El próximo número se distribuirá alrededor del sábado 4 de enero.

¡Días de espíritu! — Se anima a los estudiantes a usar los colores navideños (rojo, verde, azul, dorado, amarillo) el 18 de diciembre, suéteres y calcetines navideños el 19 de diciembre y pantalones de pijama y accesorios navideños el 20 de diciembre.
