Exercise & Sports Science
Overview
This program helps students learn the basic skills associated with athletic health care, including basic anatomy and physiology. Students practice the correct techniques for taping, wrapping, and bracing athletic injuries. They also learn to understand the proper ways to use heat and ice. Another key lesson includes instructions on how to chart vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and pain. Students who benefit from this program will aspire to become a personal trainer, athletic trainer, or physical therapist.

Uniform
Students at York Tech are required to wear a uniform. Upper garments (shirts, sweatshirts, etc.) must be purchased through the school's Tech Gear Store. Potential Career Opportunities
What to Expect
This is a standalone program that does not rotate with any other programs. Students accepted into it will take Exercise & Sports Science courses during all four years at York Tech, with the exception being students who participate in a co-op opportunity during their senior year.
