Welding & Metal Fabrication
Overview
The Welding & Metal Fabrication Technology program covers a very diverse area in which the students are trained on shielded metal arc welding, flux cored arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, oxy-acetylene/cutting, and welding and brazing processes. Students also study emerging technologies such as glass and plastic welding. Theory includes the aspects related to safety in today’s welding facilities as well as welding symbols and blueprint usage. There are also opportunities for students to use their new skills in creative ways.

Uniform
Students at York Tech are required to wear a uniform. Upper garments (shirts, sweatshirts, etc.) must be purchased through the school's Tech Gear Store. Potential Career Opportunities
What to Expect
This is a standalone program that does not rotate with any other programs. Students accepted into it will take Welding & Metal Fabrication courses during all four years at York Tech, with the exception being students who participate in a co-op opportunity during their senior year.
