Driver Education

Overview

York Tech's Adult & Continuing Education Center takes the stress out of driver education! We offer training and driver's license testing on our campus. Each student is paired with a Pennsylvania-certified instructor who helps ease nervousness by working through every component of the test. 

Flexible Packages

We offer flexible packages to suit each driver’s needs. All options are for students who already have a learner's permit. Options include:

• All-Inclusive Package

  • 30-hour online driver education course 

  • Six hours of behind-the-wheel, 1-on-1 training

  • 30-minute test prep in your own vehicle

  • Road test in your own vehicle

  • $470 ($65 deposit required to join the waiting list)

• Online Driver Education

  • 30-hour online course

  • Certificate may qualify for insurance discounts

  • $65

• Behind-the-Wheel Training

  • Six one-hour driving lessions, including parallel parking

  • Certificate may qualify for insurance discounts

  • Lessons available Monday through Wednesday after 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays by appointment

  • $350 ($65 deposit required)

• Parallel Parking Lesson

  • 30-minute session in your own vehicle

  • Lessons available Monday through Wednesday after 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays by appointment

  • $60

• Class C Third-Party Road Test

  • Must provide own vehicle, registration, insurance, and learner's permit

  • Offered Mondays, Wednesdays, and every other Saturday by appointment

  • Application, permit, and payment due by 3 p.m. two days prior to test

  • Cost

    • York Tech students: $75

    • Non-York Tech students: $100

    • Retest: $65

How to Apply

Schedule a student for a training package or the driver's license test by first completing the online application. (Be sure to select Driver's Education from the Program drop-down menu.) Afterward, an Adult & Continuing Education Center staff member will contact you to discuss your needs and reserve a date/time for the appropriate driver education program or service.
