Athletics Updates

Baseball

The JV baseball team faced Milton Hershey on Friday, May 3. Both teams played very well, but, when the dust cleared, our Spartans came out on top.

Track & Field

During the YAIAA Track and Field Championships on Wednesday, May 8,  both York Tech teams took home numerous individual and team honors.

Tasiyah Johnson set two school records by breaking her own marks in the 400 and running the fastest leg of the 4x800 relay, which broke the school record by four seconds. Tasiyah also anchored the medal winning 4x400 relay team. Rhea Flores also ran on those two relays teams and broke the school record in the 800 by almost three seconds. The girls 4x100 relay team (Janiyah Newman-Scott, Kayden Parris, Aniyah Jones, Aaliyah Hall) also broke the school record.

• Aaliyah Hall (4x100, Triple Jump)

• Aniyah Jones (110 Hurdles, 300 Hurdles, 4x100, Triple Jump)

• Jaydyn Brown (Shot Put, Discus)

• Na'Sya Holland (Discus)

• Isabel Waight-Alvarado (4x400, 4x800)

• Meredith Doores (Pole Vault)

The following Spartans earned medals for the boys’ team: 

• Jack Driscoll (4x800, 1600)

• Hayden Mathena (4x800, 4x400)

• Isiah Marine (4x800, 4x400)

• Mitchell Bradley (800, 4x800)

• Pearce Alleyne (Shot Put, Discus)

• David Ayeni (100, 4x100)

• Linval Griffiths (400, 4x100, 4 x400)

• Serge McGill (4 x100)

• Sterling Scarborough (4x100)

• Adam Gaidos (4x400)

• Colton Baldwin (Pole Vault)

• Elijah Quarles (Long Jump, Triple Jump)

• Eli Steel (Long Jump, Triple Jump)

Overall, our Spartans were the top boys’ team in both Division II and Division III, and the girls' team beat the Division II champion, the West York Bulldogs. Great job, Big Green!

Béisbol

El equipo de béisbol JV se enfrentó a Milton Hershey el viernes 3 de mayo. Ambos equipos jugaron muy bien, pero, cuando el polvo se disipó, nuestros Spartans salieron victoriosos.

Pista y campo

Durante el Campeonato de Atletismo YAIAA el miércoles 8 de mayo, ambos equipos de York Tech se llevaron a casa numerosos honores individuales y por equipos.

Tasiyah Johnson estableció dos récords escolares al batir sus propias marcas en los 400 y correr el tramo más rápido del relevo 4x800, que superó el récord de la escuela por cuatro segundos. Tasiyah también ancló el equipo de relevos 4x400 ganador de medallas. Rhea Flores también corrió en esos dos equipos de relevos y rompió el récord de la escuela en los 800 por casi tres segundos. El equipo femenino de relevos 4x100 (Janiyah Newman-Scott, Kayden Parris, Aniyah Jones, Aaliyah Hall) también rompió el récord de la escuela.
