Women’s Empowerment Club Description The Women's Empowerment Club is open for all students to join. It is intended to raise awareness for gender equality/equity issues, empower young people to be active in their communities, and learn about important moments in women’s history. There are also 14 alternates, who fill in when a primary JOC member can't attend a meeting. These selfless individuals are fully devoted to Spartan Nation and allow us to offer state-of-the-art technical education. Last week, a special dinner was held in their honor at the Spartan Inn. Students in our Culinary Arts program prepared the multi-course meal, which consisted of some amazing dishes. Thank you, JOC members, for volunteering so much of your time to further our mission! [Dinner Photos ] SkillsUSA Success — York Tech's chapter of SkillsUSA absolutely crushed it during several competitions this month! Over 25 of our students finished in the top three of their category and several qualified for the state competition. Congratulations, Spartans! [SkillsUSA Results ] [SkillsUSA Photos ] Need to Know Sports Meetings — All student-athletes interested in playing a spring sport should plan to attend a spring sports meeting during intervention on Feb. 5. The meeting location for each sport will be shared during morning announcements and displayed on the lobby TVs. Student-athletes must have a sports physical on the proper PIAA form dated May 1 or later to participate. Scroll down to see more information about sports physicals. Parent-Teacher Conferences — Parent-teacher conferences for the second semester will be conducted from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025. This round of conferences will be for both technical and academic classes; school counselors will not be available. All conferences will be conducted virtually. Registration is required and can be completed through Skyward using the conferences registration instructions . Sports Physicals — Student-athletes who wish to participate in a sport during the 2024-25 school year must submit a sports physical on the proper PIAA form dated May 1 or later. WellSpan has increased its prices for walk-in physicals from $15 to $40. However, $15 physicals will be offered temporarily on Feb. 17 and Feb. 20. Please visit our website for more details about sports physicals . Report Cards — Report cards for the second marking period are now available in Skyward . Copies can be downloaded by logging into Skyward, selecting Portfolio, and clicking the download icon next to the appropriate file. Spring Musical — Tickets for the spring musical, West Side Story , are on sale now. The show will be performed four times from March 21-23. Visit the ticket sales site to reserve your seats today. Yearbooks Reminder — Visit the yearbook purchasing website to reserve your copy of the 2025 yearbook. Jostens tends to run special promotions throughout the year, so check the website periodically for price fluctuations. Spirit Day — Students are encouraged to wear red and pink on Feb. 13. Courses Personal Finance I (704) 0.5 Credit, Grade 10-12, Weight 1.0 Course designed to guide students with examples and activities through the various financial avenues that they may encounter in their daily lives. It will prepare them for the more complex financial decisions they will make in the future. Students will develop a budget and will devise a regular savings plan. Students will compare and contrast savings with interest, compound interest, and investments. Students will demonstrate using credit wisely after researching the options available. Students will compare and contrast various loan options for major purchases, such as cars, computers, or furnishings. Personal Finance II (705) 0.5 Credit, Grade 10-12, Weight 1.0 This course is designed to take the personal finance 1 course to the next level. The course will expand on previously learned material like investing and taxes and introduce new topics like consumer awareness and the role of insurance. If you like money and want to know how it works, this is the class for you. Prerequisite: Personal Finance I Small Business Ownership (707) 0.5 Credit, Grade 11-12, Weight 1.0 This course introduces students to the basics of business ownership. Students will learn about the traits of entrepreneurs and leaders, examples of entrepreneurs as well as economic concepts including economic systems and other financial topics. This course will cover marketing, branding, social media and selling. Students will also learn how to write a business plan, how to write strong goals and what to consider related to business growth, things to consider related to hiring staff, how to use technology in business, and the importance of generosity. - Sports Physicals
< Back Sports Physicals All-sports physicals for the 2023-24 school year will be offered by appointment only in the Fieldhouse from 6-8 p.m. on Aug. 1. The cost for a physical will be $15. Make an appointment by visiting the physical sign-up link . Physical forms will be available in all school offices and online at this link . Any physical, by PIAA rule, done before June 1, 2023, is invalid. Physicals must be dated June 1, 2023, or after for the 2023-24 school year. One physical is good for all sports for the school year.
