York Tech's Joint Operating Committee is the main governing body of the school. JOC York Tech's Joint Operating Committee (JOC) is the governing body of the school. It is comprised of one school board member from each of the fourteen member school districts. Members are elected by their school board to serve a three-year term. Monthly meetings usually occur on the fourth Thursday of the month and are open to the public. < Back Prom Details When and Where This year’s prom dance will take place at the Wisehaven Event Center from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026. Seniors and juniors are invited to attend the event. Ticket Sales Seniors and juniors will be able to purchase tickets for themselves and their guests starting on Monday, March 16, 2026. The last day to purchase tickets will be Friday, April 3, 2026*. All tickets will cost $55 per person. TICKETS LINK : Link coming soon (Link will be active starting March 16) *If demand is higher than expected, ticket sales may be discontinued before April 3, 2026, to remain within the venue’s occupancy limitations. Please purchase tickets as soon as possible to avoid any issues. Seating Arrangements Students who purchase tickets will sign up for table seating arrangements in the cafeteria during all lunches from Tuesday, April 7, 2026, to Friday, April 10, 2026. Some tables seat eight, while others seat 10. One person can sign up for the entire table at one time. Please come prepared with a list of first and last names. Entering the Dance After making an online purchase, no physical or digital ticket will be issued. However, students must retain their receipt and present it at the door as proof of purchase. The name of each student for whom a ticket is purchased will be recorded and used to verify attendance eligibility on the day of the dance. Dance Guests All non-York Tech dance guests must be pre-registered by submitting the Dance Guest Agreement Form . The completed form should be turned into the High School Office before a ticket is purchased for the individual. Guests age 21 or older are not permitted to attend prom. Theme and Dress This is a formal event, and students are required to dress in formal attire. Jeans and hats will not be permitted. The theme of the event will be Starry Night . Wisehaven Event Center requires shoes to be worn at all times. Students are encouraged to bring comfortable shoes for the dance floor, if they are unable to dance in their formal shoes. Ballroom Closet York Tech students in need of dance attire may visit the Ballroom Closet, located in The HUB, during intervention periods and before homerooms from April 9-22, 2026. Gowns, suits, and men’s and women’s shoes will be available. All items are free of charge. Dinner Dinner will include a buffet-style meal and dessert bar. Students with dietary restrictions (e.g. allergies, vegan, etc.) should enter them into the RevTrak website when purchasing a ticket. There are also 14 alternates, who fill in when a primary JOC member can't attend a meeting. These selfless individuals are fully devoted to Spartan Nation and allow us to offer state-of-the-art technical education. Last week, a special dinner was held in their honor at the Spartan Inn. Students in our Culinary Arts program prepared the multi-course meal, which consisted of some amazing dishes. Thank you, JOC members, for volunteering so much of your time to further our mission! [Dinner Photos ] SkillsUSA Success — York Tech's chapter of SkillsUSA absolutely crushed it during several competitions this month! Over 25 of our students finished in the top three of their category and several qualified for the state competition. Congratulations, Spartans! [SkillsUSA Results ] [SkillsUSA Photos ] Need to Know Sports Meetings — All student-athletes interested in playing a spring sport should plan to attend a spring sports meeting during intervention on Feb. 5. The meeting location for each sport will be shared during morning announcements and displayed on the lobby TVs. Student-athletes must have a sports physical on the proper PIAA form dated May 1 or later to participate. Scroll down to see more information about sports physicals. Parent-Teacher Conferences — Parent-teacher conferences for the second semester will be conducted from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025. This round of conferences will be for both technical and academic classes; school counselors will not be available. All conferences will be conducted virtually. Registration is required and can be completed through Skyward using the conferences registration instructions . Sports Physicals — Student-athletes who wish to participate in a sport during the 2024-25 school year must submit a sports physical on the proper PIAA form dated May 1 or later. WellSpan has increased its prices for walk-in physicals from $15 to $40. However, $15 physicals will be offered temporarily on Feb. 17 and Feb. 20. Please visit our website for more details about sports physicals . Report Cards — Report cards for the second marking period are now available in Skyward . Copies can be downloaded by logging into Skyward, selecting Portfolio, and clicking the download icon next to the appropriate file. Spring Musical — Tickets for the spring musical, West Side Story , are on sale now. The show will be performed four times from March 21-23. Visit the ticket sales site to reserve your seats today. Yearbooks Reminder — Visit the yearbook purchasing website to reserve your copy of the 2025 yearbook. < Back Support Our Special Olympians Brian Honeychuck '17 and sophomore Cassidy Miller will be competing in the Spring Games 2024, organized by the York County Special Olympics. Please consider supporting our Spartans and the 100+ other Special Olympics athletes on Saturday, May 4, at York College of Pennsylvania (YCP). The opening ceremonies will begin at 9 a.m., and sports-specific competitions will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The activities will include four categories: Swimming (Natatorium), Tennis (Tennis Courts), Track & Field (Graham Field), and Basketball (Fieldhouse).
