    < Back Practical Nursing Instructor Job Type: Full Time Apply Now Job Overview & Description The York County School of Technology Adult and Continuing Education Center has an immediate vacancy for its daytime Practical Nursing program. General Description: The Practical Nursing Instructor as an Adult & Continuing Education Instructor shall be responsible for developing curriculum, preparing lesson plans, selecting appropriate books and teaching materials, and successfully teaching subject matter to adult students in the nursing program, on site or at satellite locations. The Instructor is responsible for satisfactory classroom management and record keeping. The instructor must be able to work with students at various clinical sites affiliated with the LPN program. Strong clinical background is required in the areas of Nursing Fundamentals, and Medical/Surgical nursing. The Instructor is also responsible for referring students to or notifying the Nursing Coordinator of issues or problems that must be dealt with administratively. The Instructor is expected to present a professional and positive image personally, and as a representative of the school and its programs. Required Qualifications : The individual to be hired to the position of Adult Nursing Instructor must meet the following conditions and qualifications: Graduation from an approved professional school of nursing at a minimum a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Master’s degree in nursing preferred. Current active registration as a professional nurse in Pennsylvania Experience and skill in the practice of nursing, which requires classroom and clinical instruction for students enrolled in the Practical Nursing program Must be technically experienced in the subject matter they will be teaching with preference given to those who have had previous adult teaching experience as well. Technical certifications related to the area of instruction are a plus Must meet all legal requirements, submit all criminal background checks, clearance statements, and the like, established by law. Valid Driver’s License Be proficient with using computer technologies: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Powerchart, Computerized patient records, EBSOC Host, Google Scholar, Learning Management Systems. Key Responsibilities: The Adult Nursing Instructor must have the ability to perform the following essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations: Aid in the development and implementation of nursing programs in the Adult Ed Center. Develop individual instructional materials. Aid in the selection of books, tools, and equipment. Assist the Nursing program Staff with student placements via conferences and recommendations. Instruct students in the classroom and on the clinical areas. Maintain safety rules and procedures and observe all policies per the Instructor Handbook. Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all tools and equipment. Maintain accurate records for attendance, progress charts and grade reports. Use proper, accepted instructional techniques to reach learners with a variety of learning styles. Present all materials in an unbiased and nonjudgmental way. Maintain classroom control and tidiness. Assist company representatives in developing and delivering company site based programs. Work with CNA program (based on program offerings) Serve as a role model by practicing the Teacher Professional Code of Ethics as defined by the Pennsylvania School Code. Assist in maintaining State and national credentials/accreditation Be proficient with the use of technologies in classroom and clinical areas. Assist students with SIM labs which complement the theory portion of the curriculum. Other related duties as outlined in the complete job description or otherwise assigned.     < Back PT Welding Instructor Job Type: Part Time Apply Now Job Overview & Description The Adult & Continuing Education Welding Instructor is to provide theoretical and hands-on instruction to students in activities and competencies designed to promote social, intellectual and employment growth. The Welding Instructor will be responsible for conducting learning programs and associated materials for students with the ultimate goal of producing entry-level skilled and employable students. Program responsibilities include the coordination of the physical and instructional resources necessary to successfully deliver all YCST welding programs. The Welding Instructor’s role is to teach a wide range of courses related to this Diploma Program and other courses and classes as assigned. The Instructor shall be responsible for successfully teaching subject matter to adult as well as High School students in the program, on site or at satellite locations, including satisfactory classroom management and record keeping, referring students to, or notifying the Supervisor of issues or problems that must be dealt with administratively. The Instructor is expected to present a professional and positive image personally, and as a representative of the school and its programs. The individual to be hired to the position of Adult & Continuing Education Welding Instructor must meet the following conditions and qualifications: At least three years of full-time related experience and certification in the welding Industry and or teaching experience in welding skill areas. [Video ] Need to Know Ordering Class Rings — Students in Grades 10-12 who wish to purchase and receive their class ring in time for the holidays must submit an order no later than Monday, Sept. 30. [Letter ] Winter Sports Meetings — All student-athletes interested in playing a winter sport should plan to attend the winter sports meetings during intervention on Oct. 16. The meeting location for each sport will be shared during morning announcements and displayed on the lobby TVs closer to Oct. 16. Students may only attend one meeting, and anyone interested in being a manager should also attend. Before the season begins, student-athletes must turn in a sports physical on the proper PIAA form dated May 1 or later. The forms can be found at the following link.     Drama Club Description All York Tech students may participate in the Drama Club. Members appreciate the arts and get involved in the school’s annual play and/or musical. Students from various technical programs act, sing, dance, run lights or sound, build and/or paint sets, run backstage crew, sell concessions, etc. The Drama Club partners with the Weary Arts Group to produce York Tech's plays and musicals.     < Back Spirit Week York Tech's Drama Club invites all students and staff to celebrate the upcoming musical, The SpongeBob Musical , by participating in Spirit Week from April 16-19. Below are the themes for each day. Tuesday, April 16 Celebrate Electric Skates Day by wearing a t-shirt with your favorite band on it. Wednesday, April 17 Recognize Super Sea Star Savior Day by wearing a Hawaiian shirt. Thursday, April 18 Wear western apparel in honor of Squirrel Power Day . Friday, April 19 Spirit Week will conclude with Best Day Ever Day . Participants should dress according to the list below.
