  • Hot Rodders of Tomorrow | York Tech Spartans

    Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Description This group is mainly for students in the Automotive Technology program, but students in other shops may join. Members form teams of five to disassemble and reassemble engines as fast as possible and avoid time penalties, which can be assessed for drops, torque wrench mishandling, improper procedures, and lack of communication. There are national events in Las Vegas and Indianapolis. Advisors Mr. Todd Kessler

    Live Loud Description Live Loud is a Christian club that provides a comfortable and supportive environment for all students to come and unite in their faith. Anyone is welcome no matter where they are in their walk with God. The club engages in student led discussions, prayer, and bible study.     Environmental Club Description All York Tech students are invited to participate in the Environmental Club, which is committed to getting members outdoors and in touch with local natural resources. Activities include local hiking, community service projects, and attending special programs to foster an appreciation for nature. The club’s engagement ranges from working with local leaders in the community to learning how to be stewards of the environment to just spending time together outdoors.     CyberPatriot Description This club is available to all York Tech students. It involves student-led classes about cyber security and network security for both the average computer user and the more advanced IT student. Members meet weekly to practice, and a series of competitions are held throughout the school year during which students form teams and complete cyber security challenges from the official cyber patriot organization .   • Motorsports Tech Club | York Tech Spartans

    Motorsports Tech Club Description This group is only available to students in the Powersports and Engine Technology program. Members fix and sell equipment, diagnose and repair customer equipment, and practice running their business. Students practice skills associated with being club officers, running elections, participating in meetings, providing customer service, troubleshooting, and estimating jobs. Advisors Mr. Mike Spahr

    Chess Club Description The members of the Chess Club meet to play and learn about the oldest and most challenging game ever invented. Games are casual, and players learn about openings, the middle game, and endgame tactics in order to become better players. The Chess Club meets from November until the end of March.     Women’s Empowerment Club Description The Women's Empowerment Club is open for all students to join. It is intended to raise awareness for gender equality/equity issues, empower young people to be active in their communities, and learn about important moments in women’s history. All students are invited to join, learn more, and become an ally or empower oneself. Meetings are held after school once a month and other times for special events. Advisors Ms. Cecilia Arvelo

    Related Studies < Back Yearbook Club Description All students may participate in this group as an elective course. Members have a major role in creating the current school year’s yearbook. This class is more of a workshop in which students (and the class as a whole) will create the theme, layout, design, and content of the yearbook. Everything is student made. Mr. Henderson oversees the process, makes executive decisions, and manages workflow and productivity. Key roles for yearbook staff include designers, photographers, and yearbook promoters.
