Environmental Club Description All York Tech students are invited to participate in the Environmental Club, which is committed to getting members outdoors and in touch with local natural resources. Activities include local hiking, community service projects, and attending special programs to foster an appreciation for nature. The club’s engagement ranges from working with local leaders in the community to learning how to be stewards of the environment to just spending time together outdoors. Chess Club Description The members of the Chess Club meet to play and learn about the oldest and most challenging game ever invented. Games are casual, and players learn about openings, the middle game, and endgame tactics in order to become better players. The Chess Club meets from November until the end of March. Women’s Empowerment Club Description The Women's Empowerment Club is open for all students to join. It is intended to raise awareness for gender equality/equity issues, empower young people to be active in their communities, and learn about important moments in women’s history. All students are invited to join, learn more, and become an ally or empower oneself. Meetings are held after school once a month and other times for special events. Advisors Ms. Cecilia Arvelo
