  • Exercise & Sports Science | York Tech Spartans

    < Back Exercise & Sports Science Overview This program helps students learn the basic skills associated with athletic health care, including basic anatomy and physiology. Students practice the correct techniques for taping, wrapping, and bracing athletic injuries. They also learn to understand the proper ways to use heat and ice. Another key lesson includes instructions on how to chart vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and pain. Students who benefit from this program will aspire to become a personal trainer, athletic trainer, or physical therapist. Students accepted into it will take Exercise & Sports Science courses during all four years at York Tech, with the exception being students who participate in a co-op opportunity during their senior year. Careers Uniform Students at York Tech are required to wear a uniform at all times. While in their shop classes, they must wear the uniform designated by the program instructor. At all other times, students may wear their shop uniform OR York Tech apparel, which is sold through the School Store and the Fan Shop . Please review the Student Handbook for a full explanation of the dress code. The specific uniform requirements for Exercise & Sports Science can be viewed below.     < Back Financial Aid Night York Tech seniors and their caregivers are encouraged to attend Virtual Financial Aid Night on Monday, Oct. 16, from 6-7 p.m. Attendees must register in advance using the following link. Registration Link Diona Brown, PHEAA's Higher Education Access Partner for York County, will present information on the financial aid application process, what types of aid are available for students, and strategies to start thinking about affordability before getting ready to apply for post-secondary admission.   • Picture Days 2025

    < Back Picture Days 2025 Student pictures for the 2025-26 school year will be taken on the following dates: Tuesday, Aug. 26 (Grades 9-12) Thursday, Aug. 28 (Senior Portraits) Thursday, Sept. 29 (Retakes) Tuesday, Aug. 26 (Grades 9-12) Students in Grades 9-11 will have their pictures taken on Aug. 26 for yearbook and photo I.D. purposes. Seniors will also take pictures on this date but only for photo I.D. purposes. All students MUST have their picture taken even if they do not intend to buy a photo package. Students should wear their uniforms to school. They will have the opportunity to change into a school-appropriate shirt of their choice for pictures. (Green clothing should be avoided because it will interfere with the green screen.) Thursday, Aug. 28 (Senior Portraits) This date is reserved for seniors to pose for formal yearbook pictures. Drapes and tuxes will be provided, so seniors should wear their uniforms to school. The drapes come in adjustable sizes, and tuxes are avaialble in sizes S-5X. Those wearing tuxes will be able to put them on over their uniform t-shirts. Those wearing drapes should wear a tank top (recommended) or a plain t-shirt under their uniform; the drape will go over the tank top or plain t-shirt. Accessories will include white pearls and black bow ties. For senior portraits, Jostens photographs one (1) pose per subject and will take two or three images to get the best expression. They provide direction to capture the best expression and pose but are not allowed to touch students, choose outfits, adjust clothing or hair. Monday, Sept. 29 (Retakes) Picture retakes will occur on Sept. 29. Parents and caregivers must sign up their students for retakes by using their existing Josten's account or creating an account at jostenspix.com, associating their student with the account, and clicking the button at the top of the screen labeled SIGN UP FOR RETAKES. The deadline to sign up for retakes will be Sunday, Sept. 28. (Green clothing should be avoided because it will interfere with the green screen.) Students may sign up for retakes if: They missed the original Picture Day on Aug. 26. They are not satisfied with their original photo. (The retake photo will be the final yearbook photo.) Co-Op Students Co-op students should speak with Mrs. Hicks in the Attendance Office to schedule a time slot on Picture Day, Senior Portrait Day, or Retake Day Ordering Photos A few days after Picture Day, parents and caregivers will be able to view and order pictures online at jostenspix.com using the event code FE127125 . All orders will be shipped directly to home addresses. To order, follow these steps: Check your email. When your student's pictures are ready. JostensPIX will send you a link to order. Log in or create an account. If you register your account using the email address your school has on file, your student's photos will display in the gallery. If you use another email address, click Find Your Student? and enter your event code and information to link the student's photos with the account. Order photos. Select your photo, choose a background, and customize it with text, Then, select your package and any additional products. Finally, add the items to your cart and check out.
