There were numerous top-three finishes, which helped most of our Spartans qualify for the state competition in April. The day was a resounding success for this group and our TSA advisors, Ms. Bacha and Mr. Skundrich. Click the button below to view a list of those who finished in the top three. [Survey ] Conferences — Parent-teacher conferences for the second semester will be conducted from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15. This round of conferences will be for both technical and academic classes; school counselors will not be available. All meetings will be conducted virtually. Pre-registration is required and can be completed by using the instructions available at ycst.info/ptc23 . If a teacher's conference schedule is full when scheduling a conference, please call the high school office at 717-741-0820 x4999, so alternative arrangements can be made. Report Cards — Report cards for the second marking period are available in Skyward. A copy of your child's report card can be downloaded by logging into Skyward, selecting Portfolio, and clicking the download icon next to the appropriate file. [Skyward ] Senior Class Photo — A group photo of the Class of 2024 will be taken in the Fieldhouse during intervention on Wednesday, Feb. 14. All seniors should plan on attending. Game of the Week Feb. 9 — Varsity Bowling, @Suburban Bowlerama , 3:30 p.m. Spartans in Action Throwback Video — We recently discovered footage of York Tech students and staff from previous decades. For starters, please enjoy this side-by-side comparison of our Information Technology programs in the 1980s and 2023. [Video ] Alumnus Visit — Chip Godfrey '81 visited our Culinary Arts program on Wednesday, Jan. 24, to demonstrate the proper ways to cut and prepare pork. Mr. Godfrey owns Godfrey Brothers Meats, Inc., which is located on Susquehanna Trail South in York. We always love welcoming back alumni to share their expertise with current students! [Photos ] FFA ACES Conference — Five York Tech students attended the 2024 FFA ACES Conference on Jan. 27-28. While there, they participated in workshops about professionalism, perseverance, advocacy, and much more. It was a great experience for our Spartans, and some of the lessons learned are sure to last a lifetime. [Photos ] Athletics Updates — Jordan Overton became only the sixth YAIAA boys’ basketball player to score over 30 points in a game this season, thanks to his 33-point outburst against Delone Catholic on Jan. 24. Three of our teams notched wins over Fairfield on Jan. 30: JV boys’ basketball, JV girls’ basketball, and varsity boys’ basketball. That same night, the varsity girls’ basketball team celebrated Senior Night, with help from the varsity cheerleaders. York Tech’s independent swimmer, Zoe Welsh, once again dominated the competition, this time finishing first against Spring Grove in the 100 fly and 100 backstroke. Zoe will now advance to the YAIAA championships and district qualifier at Central York. Calendar Reminders June 3 — Sports Physicals June 16 — School Store Opens July 18 — Drumline Sign-Up Deadline July 23 — Sports Physicals Featured News Commencement 2025 — Congratulations to our newest alumni! The Class of 2025 graduated on May 22 during an inspiring ceremony at the York Expo Center. We were truly privileged to honor these seniors, who have represented Spartan Nation extremely well over the past four years. [Graduation Photos ] Last Day of School — May 21 was the last day of school for Grades 9-11, which meant it was time for another annual tradition! Staff members lined the sidewalk and waved to students as the buses pulled away for the final time. This simple but meaningful event is always much more than a goodbye. Rather, it allows teachers to give students an uplifting start to summer and say, "Thank you for a great school year." [Video ] Need to Know Report Cards — Report cards for the fourth marking period will be available by close of business today, June 2. Copies can be downloaded from Skyward by selecting Portfolio and clicking the download icon next to the appropriate file. School Store Summer Hours — The online school store is temporarily closed. It will re-open on Monday, June 16. Orders placed during the summer can be picked up on the designated pick-up dates, which will begin June 25. Visit our website for a full explanation of the store’s summer hours and pick-up procedures . Musicians Needed — York Tech’s drumline is seeking enthusiastic musicians for the upcoming fall season! The drumline performs at home football games, school pep rallies, and other events in the school and community. Prior music experience is a plus but not required. Rehearsals start July 29. Visit the York Tech drumline form to view the rehearsal schedule and sign up for the group. Interested students should complete the sign-up form by July 18. Work Permits — York Tech students can obtain work permits through the High School Office. Visit the High School Office’s web page to learn more about the work permit application process. 2025-26 Sports Physicals — Student-athletes who wish to participate in a sport during the 2025-26 school year must submit a sports physical on the proper PIAA form dated May 1 or later. WellSpan has increased its prices for walk-in physicals from $15 to $40. However, $15 physicals will be offered temporarily on June 3 and July 23. Please visit our website for more details about these sports physicals . Summer Hours — Starting June 2, 2025, and lasting through Aug. 1, 2025, York Tech's high school operating hours will be limited during the summer break. Staff in the high school office will be available Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. to issue work permits and assist with other requests. Offices will be closed to visitors on Fridays. All visitors must enter through Door 1, which faces Pauline Drive. It is recommended that visitors call in advance to check on the availability of the person(s) with whom they wish to meet. Summer Communication — Once the school year is over and summer break begins, the Spartan Review will be distributed on an as-needed basis when there is new or important information to share. < Back Virtual Day on Feb. 6 Due to the potential for adverse travel conditions caused by inclement weather, York Tech's high school and Adult and Continuing Education Center will utilize a virtual learning day — also known as a Flexible Instruction Day (FID) — on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025 . All afternoon and evening extracurricular activities will still occur. High school students and staff will participate in synchronous instruction from home by following the 2024-25 virtual learning schedule, which is available at ycst.info/schedules24-25 . Prior to the start of each period, students will log in to Schoology, visit their teacher's Schoology home page, and access the virtual classroom using the Microsoft Teams link listed on the Schoology page.
