  • Senior Class Trip

    < Back Senior Class Trip The Senior Class trip will be on Wednesday, May 22. It will take place on a Charter Lunch Cruise in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. The anticipated schedule is below. 9:30 a.m. — Depart from York Tech 11 a.m. — Arrive at the Inner Harbor 2 p.m. — Depart from the Inner Harbor 3:30 p.m. — Arrive at York Tech Tickets will include a buffet lunch, transportation, DJ, entertainment on board the ship, and spectacular views of the city skyline and local landmarks. Use the link below to purchase a nonrefundable ticket for $63; there will be no in-person sales. Ticket sales will continue until they are gone or April 22, whichever comes first. This award is given annually to the cooperative coordinator of the year, and Ms. Warner is most definitely deserving. She works tirelessly to ensure York Tech students have access to rewarding work opportunities in their fields of study. [Photos ] Field Trip — Some of Mr. Jamison’s Precision Machining Technology students received a tour of the Harley Davidson manufacturing facility on Friday, Oct. 20. They took a simulated, hands-on welding course plus the assembly line’s entrance exam. It was an extremely informative trip, and Mr. Jamison even crossed paths with a former York Tech student, Will Anthony IV, who works at Harley Davidson! [Photos ] Senior Night — York Tech students are able to play soccer through our partnership with York Country Day School. The girls' team celebrated Senior Night on Monday, Oct. 16, with a win over Christian School of York. Thank you to the team's lone senior, Talim Leschke, for representing both schools so well! [Photos ] Athletics Updates — The varsity football team survived tough weather conditions during the homecoming game on Oct. 14 to defeat Fairfield 8-6. The contest was won thanks to a late safety and a game-sealing interception. Girls’ soccer picked up a quality win over Christian School of York on Oct. 16 by a score of 2-0. Later that evening, girls’ volleyball defeated William Penn in straight sets to finish Senior Night in style. The next day, both cross country teams competed in the YAIAA League Championships at John Rudy Park. Four girls and four boys qualified to compete in the PIAA District III Championship race.   • 2025 Car Show

    < Back 2025 Car Show York Tech's Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Club will present the Power and Precision Auto Show on Saturday, May 3, 2025. The event will take place at York Tech (2179 S. Queen St., York, PA) from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The rain date will be Saturday, May 24. There will be a $5 entry fee per parking spot. All makes and models are welcome, including American, imports, trucks, and exotic vehicles. Admission is free for spectators. The festivities will include a car show, vendors, and food trucks. All profits from this event will benefit York Tech's Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Club. Vendors and those wishing to enter a vehicle in the show should complete the preregistration form to reserve a parking spot. All preregistrations must be received before May 2, 2025.     < Back Welding Teacher Job Type: Full Time Apply Now Job Overview & Description General Description: The Welding Teacher will be responsible for teaching high school students the skills and theory in the welding and metal fabrication curriculum Required Qualifications : The individual to be hired to the position of Welding Teacher must meet the following conditions and qualifications: PA CTE Teaching Certification in Welding strongly preferred. Noncertified candidates must have at least four years of full time (or equivalent) work experience within the field after their high school graduation date. Candidates not possessing PA teaching certification must be willing to complete required college coursework and testing requirements to obtain full certification. Evidence of completion of a formal welding training program strongly preferred. Knowledge of welding and metal fabrication supplies, equipment, and safety guidelines. Ability to communicate with a diverse group of students, parents, coworkers, and the community in a manner which demonstrates dignity and respect. The School reserves the right to excuse any applicant from meeting one or more of the listed qualification requirements, provided the applicant possesses other qualifications in addition to the minimum set forth herein, and that the School deems those qualifications to be an adequate and acceptable substitute for the particular qualification(s) not possessed by the applicant. Key Responsibilities: The Welding Teacher must have the ability to perform the following essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations: Instruct students in grades 9—12 in various aspects of welding and metal fabrication including but not limited to gas, arc, shielded and non-shielded metal arc, MIG and TIG, brazing, flame cutting and plastic welding. Hand, semi-automatic, and automatic welding processes components are included. Teach safety practices and types and uses of electrodes and welding rods; properties of metals; blueprint reading; electrical principles; welding symbols and mechanical drawing; use of equipment for testing welds by ultrasonic methods and destruction and hardness testing; use of manuals and specification charts; use of portable grinders and chemical baths for surface cleaning; positioning and clamping; and welding standards established by the American Welding Society, American Society of Mechanical Engineers and American Bureau of Ships. Create and implement lesson plans conforming to school requirements for content and/or format. Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit grade reports as required. Create a positive environment conducive toward learning. Work cooperatively with other staff members and promote a cohesive team-based approach to the program and curriculum. Contact parents or guardians when necessary. Develop connections with local businesses and outside organizations to promote internships, sponsorships, and/or job placement. Attend school functions as required. Perform other duties as requested or assigned by the Principal or other appropriate administrator Physical/Environmental Demands: School and shop environment.
